Stay Empowered and Stay Informed!
Connecting patients with the right resources for optimal health outcomes
Patient Advocacy Services
Our advocacy work is built on one simple truth: patients are the missing voice in research design. Too often, researchers believe they understand patient needs, but until real patients are pre-screened and engaged, they don’t see the full picture. The reality of day-to-day life, symptom variability, and true eligibility often differs from what’s assumed on paper. That’s where you come in.
Through confidential, double-blind interviews and pre-screening opportunities, patients have the chance to share their real experiences with the people who have the power to create change, while being compensated for their time and insight. Your voice helps shape more accurate inclusion and exclusion criteria, ensuring research reflects real-world patients, not just assumptions. We also encourage patients to explore and pre-screen for as many research opportunities as possible.
You are compensated for your time
You help improve the accuracy of clinical research with real-world data
You gain early insight into emerging treatments
And you bring valuable information back to your medical team, allowing you to take a more active role in your care
Research Support
We don’t just include the patient voice, we protect it and we elevate it.
Because real progress is built on real experiences, not assumptions. And we go beyond connection.
We support research full circle, giving back to the foundations and organizations that support patients and fuel innovation, creating a continuous cycleof impact, advocacy, and advancement.

FOUNDER OF PATIENT CONNECT
Shannon Coates is the founder of Patient Connect. Her work in clinical research began as a necessity, not just a career.
HER STORY
- At 14, she became a caregiver to her mother during breast cancer treatment.
- After navigating two countries, four states, and more than 100 physicians, she was diagnosed with several rare autoimmune conditions.
- She also lost her father and two uncles to rare small cell lung cancer.
- These experiences shaped her understanding of healthcare, advocacy, and the urgency behind patient decisions.
WHY SHE BECAME THE BRIDGE
- Through Patient Connect, she partners with research sponsors, medical market research, pharma, CROS, and clinical sites to bring real patient insight into research design, recruitment, and execution.
- She helps patients access medical market research and clinical trial opportunities.
- Her approach is built on intuition, trust, advocacy, and deep community relationships, especially in rare and complex conditions.
- She believes patients should be empowered, informed, and supported - never treated as numbers.
"Connect the right patient to the right opportunity, at the right time."
